i have always thought the chat limit was very restrictive when you are trying to recruit for your guild, sell something, or even explain to someone how something works. but at the same time i know it is needed to keep spam down. so i thought of a way to get the best of both worlds, keep spam to a minimum and give the ability to send more information using the same method already used in quests and template links.

that idea is text links

the text links option would be in the menu and assigned to a hotkey. when you hit this i brings up a a quest box looking thing and you can enter a ton of text *there would be a limit but idk what yet* and then when your done at the bottom there would be a send to chat button like with the skills template and you would send to chat. then people can click on the link and it will bring up the quest box filled with all the information you placed in it.

now this text box can be filtered like chat and should be allowed in all chat and trade chat but with the exception of only one link per message you you dont get annoying people filling chat with links to stupidity.

this will make recruiting for your guild or even group much better as you can put in as much info as you want. also when you sell you can tell what you want to sell then give a link of all the stats and ect.

this could also be applied to the search function. whenever you do search it can put a link in there where the text is now and people can click it to see exactly what you need, what your selling, or info about your guild. best part about that being that anet does not have to increase the text limit on search if it is all links.

Imo, this is a very good idea. Theres not really much I can add apart from that it is also going into the direction of a personal shop in some respects.

Let me say If I understand it... you suggest to add 'autoshispers' so the servers tonly have to put a little in the party search panel, and then, people could read the full text by requesting it to your GW client?

I was thinking about this too. It could be merged with AFK shops and the party search.

You put tags or a briefing, a name or a title of your name (Green weapons, Shung You miscellanies, Cheat Ectos, etc...) and then people can request the full text or even a purchase panel, even without getting to your district...

That could work.

yea um kinda..... i didnt think to allow for trade windows to be opened via this but i guess that would work, just drag the item into the box too with its price or something, and when they click on it it automatically places the item and the gold amount in trade and the person just needs to hit accept...

but that really wasn't the original point of this but yes that is possible too

I'd kinda like this. It'd be like "[Doom] is recruiting!" and if you were in the market for a guild, you could click or mouseover the guild tag to see info about what sort of playing they do, how much faction they have, what alliances, Kurz or Lux, member requirements, etc. Much better than letting people tramp through outposts spamming two or more lines of crap every five seconds.

Oh, no, I didn't meant that.
I meant to use at the same time.

For example, you set a shop, and the Party panel popups. You put in the 'Title' the name or short description of the shop, and in the 'Content' the long descrition.

Then to check the shop you'll have to use travel to get to the charater.
But the system could automatically make a list of items that could be checjed before going to the shop, much like the "Rewards" section of quests descriptions.

And would be even better to open the shop too too, but that'a another thing.

oooooooo i c, sooo you want item linking which wow has had for forver and we have been asking for, for forever yea im all for that too. make selling SOOOOOOO mush easier, dont even need shops then just link you items and there ya go simple pm me will suffice in my eyes.

It would be even better to be able to promote your guild in such a way (text link) that people have a *small* extra space for text, but are able to announce with toggled icons what the guild offers. If you had a GH merchant, you'd toggle the GH merchant icon.

Of course, you're idea would be simpler to impliment.

signed for GW2 ..will sure not happen anymore in GW2 ... I doubt not. that anet will implement after the release of GW2 so or so any new content to GW1 ... like new Add Ons...

i think.one GW2 is out..anet will fully concentrate on the content for GW2 and GW1 will be abandoned and only small supported further...

so when..then for GW2
